Call The Doctor! Or, He’ll Call You: Michael Jackson’s Death Doctor Has Private Telephone In Jail Cell
The man convicted of the involuntary manslaughter death of Michael Jackson, Dr. Conrad Murray, has been granted a personal cell phone to use while serving his four-year sentence behind bars, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
“The phone can’t receive any incoming phone calls, but Dr. Murray can place collect calls to anyone he wants,” a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed.
The stunning and surprising insight into his life in jail explains how Dr. Murray was able to call CNN’s Anderson Cooper for a live jailhouse interview on April 2 in which he serenaded the newsman with a rendition of Nat King Cole’s The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot.
The unexpected cell phone privilege is also how Dr. Murray, who 12 jurors unanimously agreed in Nov. 2011 was solely responsible for causing Jackson’s death by administering a deadly dose of the powerful sedative Propofol, was able to call into NBC’s TODAY.
“Dr. Murray was given a phone because of the resources it would take to take him out of his cell to take him to the pay phone were just tapping the already very limited jail resources,” said the source.
“He is on his phone 24/7, typically calling his baby mama, Nicole Alvarez, along with his attorney.”
The disgraced cardiologist isn’t housed in the general population of the Los Angeles County jail because he is considered a “high value target” by other inmates because of his role in Jackson’s 2009 death.
So, one law enforcement source told RadarOnline.com, “It was just easier to give him a phone.”
But jail officials didn’t expect that Dr. Murray or his associates would somehow profit from the phone, as was believed to have occurred recently.
His girlfriend, Alvrez, recently sold a voicemail message from the doctor in which he complained to a tabloid website about not being able to sleep, in order to pay her rent.
During the message, Murray cried: “I can’t sleep now, it’s very hard, I’m in constant pain. Can someone please help me? I can’t use my hands anymore. I have no more use of my arms.”
Said the source: “Clearly complaining about having ‘explosive diarrhea’ has paid off for the doctor!”
“He is manipulating the system and is able to call media outlets all while he continues to accept zero responsibility for Jackson’s death.
“It’s absolutely insulting that someone convicted of the death of another human being is able to have a phone at his disposal to use whenever he wants.”
tapping? A lot of tapping lately... tapping dance.....

Court urged to reject Jackson doctor's appeal
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The involuntary manslaughter conviction of Michael Jackson's doctor should not be overturned because there were no serious errors made by the judge overseeing his criminal case, a state attorney wrote in a filing urging a court to reject his appeal.
Supervising Deputy Attorney General Victoria B. Wilson wrote in a response Monday to Conrad Murray's appeal that the former cardiologist's own lawyers forfeited several opportunities to object to a judge's rulings in the case.
Wilson's filing also states jurors were presented overwhelming evidence that Murray's actions caused Jackson's death and his conviction should be upheld.
Rulings cited by Murray's attorneys as legal errors by Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor were not mistakes, but rather kept the jury focused on whether the physician was responsible for Jackson's June 2009 death, Wilson wrote.
Murray remains jailed after being sentenced to four years behind bars for providing Jackson with the anesthetic propofol, which the singer overdosed on in his bedroom.
"The record shows that (Murray) was playing Russian roulette with Mr. Jackson's life over the course of several months," Wilson wrote.
His attorney Valerie Wass appealed the conviction in April, arguing that Pastor erred by not allowing jurors to hear evidence about Jackson's troubled finances, his contract with concert giant AEG Live LLC, and by not sequestering the jury and allowing television coverage.
Wilson wrote that none of those rulings were errors, or would warrant overturning Murray's conviction.
"The argument is nothing more than the reflection of a criminal defendant who harbors no sense of responsibility or remorse for taking the life of a human being," Wilson wrote.
"Of course I disagree," Wass said Monday night. "I believe there were serious errors made."
She said Wilson's filing didn't address her argument that the prosecution theory about how Jackson overdosed was incorrect and how additional forensic testing could demonstrate that.
Wilson's filing however noted that Murray's three-person legal team had access to evidence in the case for months before the trial, and in some cases conceded they hadn't thought to raise certain issues.
Wass said she would raise what she said were omissions in Wilson's response in a subsequent filing.
Jackson's finances and his relationship with AEG and Murray are the subject of a civil lawsuit being heard at a courthouse down the street from where Murray was convicted. The case brought by Jackson's mother against AEG claims the concert giant failed to properly investigate Murray before allowing him to serve as a tour doctor, and ignored signs of Jackson's poor health.
AEG denies wrongdoing, and a deputy medical examiner who conducted Jackson's autopsy told jurors Monday that the pop singer appeared to be in excellent health when he died.
Allowing the criminal jury to hear evidence of Jackson's massive debts and pending lawsuits would have been a distraction, and a mistake, Wilson wrote.
Pastor was right to be concerned that presenting evidence of Jackson's financial troubles "would result in a salacious sideshow of Mr. Jackson's finances and lawsuits and run the risk of distracting the jury from its task of deciding (Murray's) guilt," she wrote.
Took Murray one year and a half to file the opening brief in his appeal, less than a month to the DA to reply, let's see how long takes to the judge to rule.

MJ's family is none too pleased!
Jermaine Jackson was whipping around town in his new Ferrari with wife Halima Rashid over the weekend, and X17online asked Michael's brother what he thought about Dr. Conrad Murray getting released from prison early. The answer is exactly what you'd expect!
"He should stay in there [prison] forever, along with the rest of them," he angrily declared.

Dr. Conrad Murray I Want to Practice Medicine Again Exclusive
Dr. Conrad Murray will make his move after his release from jail in 2 weeks ... and sources tell TMZ, he's vowing to break back into the business of doctoring.
Sources directly connected with Murray tell us ... he plans to fight the revocation of his license in Texas. As for California ... revocation proceedings are on hold, but we're told he will fight that as well -- partly on grounds that he was singled out for unfair treatment because the patient -- Michael Jackson -- was incredibly famous.
Fact is ... Murray has practiced for 20 years and aside from the Propofol disaster, his record is unblemished. In fact, Murray has a legion of loyal patients who actually demonstrated on his behalf and were more than willing to fly from Texas to California to support him in court.
Murray is also taking solace in the fact that the jury in the MJ wrongful death trial concluded AEG was not off base in hiring him because he was a competent general practitioner.
Short story -- Murray has a built-in patient base if he can get his license back.
If he can't practice in the U.S., we're told he's not foreclosing the possibility of practicing out of the country.
Our sources say when Murray gets out of jail on October 28, he'll go off the radar for several weeks and then make his move.
When Murray resurfaces ... we're told he will fight fiercely to regain the right to practice medicine.
1) It was his request to suspend the license, since he would be out of the State for more than 3 months. This is a requerment from the medical board, any doctor out of the State and not practicing has to request for his license to be suspended.
2) His sentencing was in California, so out of Texas jurisdiction. Texas cannot use the lawsuit unless it is done by request of California court of law
3) His license was not revoked;
4) to revoke a license, even in California, the medical board has to open it own process and he has to be convicted for malpractice by his own pairs, and in this case they can use the evidence in his lawsuit. None of medical board openned any disciplinary process.

Dr. Conrad Murray WHO WANTS TO BE MY PUBLICIST?! Exclusive
Looking for a job as a celebrity publicist?? Good news, Conrad Murray is looking to hire ... and with only 1 week left 'til he's out of jail , he wants to move fast ... TMZ has learned.
Multiple sources tell us ... Murray -- with the help of his GF Nicole Alvarez -- has been contacting publicists around town, hoping he can find someone who can help change his image and even book him gigs in Hollywood.
The game plan is obvious -- We've learned network TV shows are falling over each other to book Murray for the first post-jail interview, and a lot of money is being offered. And we're told he's been writing a book as well. Based on what we know a reality show is not out of the question.
It's unclear what the PR job would pay -- or how Murray will pay -- considering he's dead broke.
Then again, maybe he's trying to get his singing career off the ground ...

Farrah Abraham's Former Publicist Attempts to Get Michael Jackson's Doctor as a Client
Farrah Abraham and her publicist Gina Rodriguez had a very public falling out earlier this year after Farrah accused Gina of lying about her rehab stay. However, Gina stayed professional and brushed off the diss and now, she's got her eyes set on landing another client -- Dr. Conrad Murray.
Since Conrad is currently looking for a celebrity PR company to help him promote an upcoming book about the death of Michael Jackson, Gina is ready to step up to the plate and make that happen.
"I have been trying to reach his [Conrad's] girlfriend Nicole Alvarez all morning since reading the report. I have already reached out to Conrad's attorney Valerie Wass this morning but have not received a response," Gina tells Rumorfix. "I would love to take on Conrad and work with him on his PR as well as molding his future career in entertainment. Conrad is the perfect client for me as he is very controversial."
Gina's other clients include Tanning Mom Patricia Krentcil, who was in rehab at the same time as Farrah, Kim Zolciak, Dina Lohan, Michael Lohan, Kate Major, and Tiger Woods mistress Rachel Uchitel.

Gina Rodriguez (future Murray publicist)
Ex-Porn Star Launches 'Talent' Agency for Celeb Mistresses
Business is apparently booming for a "talent" agency representing the purported ex-lovers of celebrities.
Launched by former porn star Gina Rodriguez, the probably suitably named DD Entertainment is reaping rewards from the extramarital activity of stars such as golf champion Tiger Woods and actor Mel Gibson.
Los Angeles-based DD Entertainment says it specializes in remaking the images of people caught in notorious situations and circumstances.
Rodriguez said her first client was friend Joslyn James, a fellow porn actress who reportedly had a three-year affair with golfer Woods.
"Joslyn James lived in my home for three months to protect her from the media and to help get her back on her feet," Rodriguez said in an interview with the Orange County Register.
That act of salvation prompted others from Woods' list of third wheels -- Jamie Jungers, Loredana Jolie, Holly Sampson and Devon James -- to seek assistance from Rodriguez.
"Thirteen mistresses later, I founded DD Entertainment," Rodriguez said. "I help them to use their notoriety to build them a platform to take them to the next level of their career."
Other semi-celebrities on the DD Entertainment roster are mostly infamous for questionable behavior.
They include Violet Kowal, who claimed an affair with actor Mel Gibson, and Jeff Miranda, a former boyfriend of Snooki from the television program "Jersey Shore."
Kate Major, a former reporter for Star magazine linked to octodad Jon Gosselin and now engaged to Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael, is DD Entertainment's publicist.
According to a statement on the company's website, "With over 21 years of experience in the entertainment industry as an actress, model, writer, producer, creator and publicist, Gina has moved into the realm of management with an intimate, first hand knowledge of the industry and a female businesswoman's sensibilities to the issues and challenges her clientele will face."
Rodriguez is no stranger to controversy.
A former Playboy model, the 43-year-old mother of two teenage children was allegedly romantically involved with married actor David Boreanaz last year -- the "Bones" TV star denied an affair.
Rodriguez worked under the stage name "Demi Delia" during her adult film career and was the subject of an online reality TV show, "Mommy XXX." A clip that's safe for work -- but maybe not for your sanity -- can be viewed above.
"I have been somewhat of a mother to all of them in some way," Rodriguez said of her clients.

Let's go... MURRAY WANTS TO BE MICHAEL!!!!
On Eve Of His Release From Prison, Conrad Murray Applies To Have Medical License Reinstated Posted on Oct 26, 2013
With his prison term just hours from ending, Conrad Murray has set his sights on being Dr. Conrad Murray once again.
On Friday, the man convicted of causing Michael Jackson‘s death in 2009, filed a civil petition in Travis County, Texas asking a civil court judge to stop the state medical board’s revocation of his medical license pending his ongoing criminal appeal in California.
Murray had a clinic in Texas prior to his 2011 conviction and Texas was the first state to revoke his license, citing his felony conviction in California as the reason.
But Murray’s Texas attorney is fighting that on the basis that the conviction isn’t “final” until all appeals have been exhausted.
“Dr. Murray has an unquenchable desire to help people, and no matter where it is, he will return to his given profession of healing,” Charles Peckham told The New York Daly News.
Not everybody feels he should ever get that right again.
As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office is vowing to fight all efforts by Murray to get a medical license anywhere in the country.
Murray is scheduled to be released Monday morning.
What do you think? Should Murray be allowed to practice medicine again? Tell us in comments.
Conrad Murray Believes Michael Jackson Wants Him To Take Care Of His Children, Says Former Bodyguard Posted on Oct 27, 2013
With just hours to go before he’s to be released from prison, Conrad Murray is plotting out his new life, and a big part of it is caring for Michael Jackson‘s children, the disgraced doctor’s former bodyguard, Jeff Adams, told the New York Daily News.
“Murray thinks Michael would want him to care for his children,” Adams said. “He has lost his mind. Paris and Prince solely blame him for killing their dad.
“It is quite sad because he is causing Michael’s daughter more problems. He is deluded and feels like they are close like they were before Michael died.”
Murray is refusing to accept that Jackson’s kids — Paris, Prince and Blanket want nothing to do with him, Adams said.
“They have asked him to leave the country but he is in denial.”
Adams worked for Murray from the time of Jackson’s death in 2009 until he went to prison in 2011, convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
according to the bodyguard, Murray has never shown remorse for his actions contributing to Jackson’s death.
“He never said ‘sorry’ to the children or their grandmother for his actions and I don’t think he ever will.”
Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's doctor, eyeing singing career, says ex-bodyguard Jeff Adams, the former bodyguard of Conrad Murray, tells Confidenti@l that former doctor accused of killing Michael Jackson is eyeing a singing career.
Conrad Murray is convinced he has what it takes to follow in the footsteps of the pop great he is responsible for killing, says the deranged doctor’s ex-bodyguard.
Michael Jackson's killer doctor wants to go from jailbird to songbird.
Conrad Murray is convinced he has what it takes to follow in the footsteps of the pop great he is responsible for killing, says the deranged doctor’s ex-bodyguard. “Murray thinks he can make it as a singer in the future,” Jeff Adams told the Daily News.
“He has lost the plot. He needs to worry about protecting his life before getting a record deal.”
Murray, 60, is set to be released from a Los Angeles jail on Monday. The disgraced doctor was sentenced in November 2011 to four years behind bars for orchestrating the King of Pop’s fatal overdose.
Murray, who has filed a court petition seeking to get his medical license reinstated, sees big dollar signs in his future, Adams said.
“He is working on rebuilding his career in the medical field and forging a career in entertainment,” Adams said, noting that the doctor is also writing a book about his relationship with Jackson. “He is offering it to publishers and expects seven figures. People have told him no one wants to read it, but he is using Michael to try and make money.”
“He is working on rebuilding his career in the medical field and forging a career in entertainment,” Adams (pictured) said
Those are just a few of Murray’s many deluded fantasies, according to Adams. The ex-doctor also believes he’s going to reconnect with Jacko’s children — Prince, Paris and Blanket.
“Murray thinks Michael would want him to care for his children,” Adams said. “He has lost his mind and is undergoing a breakdown. Paris and Prince solely blame him for killing their dad.
“It is quite sad because he is causing Michael’s daughter more problems. He is deluded and feels like they are close like they were before Michael died. He refuses to accept that the Jackson kids want nothing to do with him. They have asked for him to leave the country, but he is in denial.”
Adams said he spent more than two years working as Murray’s personal bodyguard in the wake of Jackson’s death. Over that time, not once did Murray express remorse for Jackson’s death or apologize to his family, Adams said. “Throughout all that time he never said ‘sorry’ to the children or their grandmother for his actions — and I don’t think he ever will,” Adams said.
“He didn’t write a letter or note, which I found strange too. He wallowed in his own issues and didn’t really stop to think what the kids were going through. Murray actually thinks he is the victim in this matter.”
Adams said he believes Murray should shelve his dreams of mounting a comeback in the U.S. and instead leave the country for the sake of his safety. “Murray should walk out of prison and leave America immediately. I would urge him to leave and go back to Trinidad,” Adams said.
“Murray has no concept or understanding of the severity of his crime or how the public views him. . . . There are a lot of fans and criminals who would serve time to have the prestige of killing him.”

Conrad Murray completes jail time for killing Michael Jackson
Los Angeles (CNN) -- Dr. Conrad Murray left the Los Angeles County jail under sheriff's escort, avoiding reporters and Michael Jackson fans waiting for his release early Monday.
Murray, who served two years of a four-year sentence for causing Michael Jackson's death, was driven away in a sheriff's car for the "safety and security" of the jail, sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said.
The handful of Jackson fans gathered outside the jail accused the Los Angeles County sheriff of showing favoritism to Murray by slipping him out of the jail through a back exit, instead of the door where freed prisoners normally leave.
Murray, who the sheriff's spokesman described as an exemplary inmate, was kept away from the general inmate population during his two years in the jail. He was also allowed to have liberal use of a telephone inside his cell during his last year.
Murray's lawyer told reporters outside the jail that he would try to get his medical licenses reinstated in California, Texas and Nevada so he can resume the medical career interrupted by his conviction on the involuntary manslaughter in 2011.
Conrad Murray was released from jail at midnight Monday after serving two years of a four-year sentence for administering a fatal dose of the anesthetic propofol to pop superstar Michael Jackson at the singer's rented Holmby Hills estate.
Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for Jackson's June 25, 2009, death at age 50. The singer was in the Southland rehearsing for his never-realized "This Is It" concert series at London's O2 Arena. The coroner's office determined that Jackson died of acute propofol intoxication.
Murray has insisted that he did nothing wrong in his treatment of the singer, with his attorneys arguing during his trial that Jackson himself likely administered the fatal dose when the doctor was out of the room. But prosecutors said propofol should only be administered in a hospital setting with proper monitoring equipment.
Jackson referred to the white-colored propofol as his "milk," and used it to combat insomnia.
Murray, now 60, was sentenced in November 2011 to four years behind bars. He is serving his time at the Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced earlier this year that Murray's projected release date was Oct. 28. He will be released after serving roughly two years of a four-year sentence as a result of standard good- behavior credits. News of his pending release prompted some angry comments from Jackson's family.
Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the sheriff's department, said the agency had no comment about Murray's anticipated release. When Murray was sentenced to four years in jail in 2011, Whitmore said the doctor would likely serve about two years behind bars.
Murray's treatment of Jackson was the central focus of the recent trial of a lawsuit filed against "This Is It" concert promoter AEG Live by the singer's mother, Katherine. After hearing months of testimony, a jury decided not to award the Jackson family any damages, finding that while AEG Live hired Murray, the doctor was fully competent to act as Jackson's personal physician.

Conrad Murray First Stop BURGER RUN Exclusive
Conrad Murray is a shadow of his former self, looking noticeably older and gray, as he chowed down on his first post-pokey meal -- IN-N-OUT!
Murray looked business casual after wearing standard issue orange for 2 years. He was able to evade cameras as he left jail at 12:01 AM, thanks to the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept.
It looks like Murray inhaled a double-double ... something he probably dreamed about for months.
For comparison's sake, here's Murray's mug shot from 2011, taken moments after he was convicted of manslaughtering Michael Jackson. The good doc looks a good 20 lbs lighter now.
Did Murray have a closet at his cell? What about this huge suitcase?

Jermaine Jackson 'Disgusted' By Murray's Release
video at the site
Jermaine Jackson isn't just furious that Conrad Murray is a free man -- just 2 years after Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter -- Jermaine is "disgusted."
Michael's bro expressed his ire moments ago at LAX, but you really have to watch the video to get a feel for it.
Tito Jackson was also there, but he was feeling a little less talkative.
As we reported, Murray was released from jail in L.A. early this AM ... and immediately hit up an In-N-Out for some burger therapy.
Conrad Murray is getting just what the doctor ordered -- his mother, who flew in from Trinidad to make him a delicious, home-cooked meal.
We've learned Murray is spending time at an undisclosed location with GF/baby mama Nicole Alvarez, their kid and Murray's mother, Milta. The mom flew in and greeted Murray hours after he left L.A. County Jail.
Not to be outdone by Murray's post-jail In-N-Out run, Milta cooked the good doc chicken curry and roti, a flat bread.
Murray is trying to figure out whether he'll stay in California or go back to Texas.
As we previously reported, Murray wants to practice medicine again, but our medical board sources say that's not gonna happen. He also wrote a big chunk of a book in jail and we're told he's open to doing a reality show.
How does TMZ know what his mother cooked for him if he is in an undisclosed location?

Now there is something odd with Murray's hair (same day different hairdo)
Conrad Murray reunites with son after serving two years in jail for death of Michael Jackson... but only after indulging in a burger at In-N-Out
Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray reunited with the youngest of his seven children on Monday just hours after he was quietly freed from jail.
He celebrated his first taste of freedom in two years by taking his son Che Giovanni, whose mother is actress Nicole Alverez, on a mountain hike.
Murray, who was convicted of killing the pop superstar with an overdose of a powerful anaesthetic, first made a stop at an In-N-Out burger restaurant immediately after his release.
Reunion: Conrad Murray with his son Che Giovanni on Monday, shortly after his release from jail
He was released at 12:01 a.m. from a jail in downtown Los Angeles after serving about half of his maximum sentence for involuntary manslaughter.
A change in California law allowed his incarceration time to be significantly reduced.
Murray was taken from the jail a back way, eluding a cluster of TV crews and a few Jackson fans. Sheriff's officials arranged the quiet exit and drove him away for safety reasons, spokesman Steve Whitmore said.
Can't wait: Murray eagerly reached out his car to take the burgers at a drive-thru of the iconic fast food joint
First taste of freedom: Murray was seen indulging in an In-N-Out burger prior to meeting with his son
He made his way straight to iconic fast food joint In-N-Out to indulge in a burger for his first meal out of prison.
Murray was seen eagerly reaching for the food from the backseat of a car at a drive-thru.
He was then spotted enjoying the burger with a friend at a table outside the eatery.
Taste of freedom: Murray spent two years behind bars
New life: It is unclear what Murray will do following his release, but his attorney said he would 'one day' practice medicine again
Good to be free: He was allowed to serve his entire sentence in a Los Angeles jail rather than a state prison due to a law aimed at easing overcrowding by shifting nonviolent offenders to local lockups
'He was elated to be out of there' said Valerie Wass, Murray's attorney, adding that he planned to spend time with his girlfriend Nicole Alvarez and children.
Nicole has stood by him throughout his incarceration which lasted nearly two years.
Murray's prospects are uncertain: At age 60 his license to practice medicine has been suspended or revoked in three states, and his face and name are well known due to his association with Jackson and his highly publicised trial.
Disgraced doctor: Murray is eager to practice medicine again, despite his conviction
So happy: Murray was clearly delighted to be reunited with his son in the picturesque surroundings
Proud father: Murray is dad to seven children from four different women
Premature death: Murray was found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, pictured here in March 2009
Wass said Murray wants to be a doctor again.
'I believe that he will practice medicine again someday, somewhere, 'she said.
Brian Panish, an attorney for the Jackson family, said Murray should not have 'a chance to hurt anyone else' by practising medicine.
'He has shown no remorse and the consequences of his actions will last forever,' the lawyer said.
The former cardiologist was convicted in 2011 of causing Jackson's death in June 2009 by providing him with the powerful anaesthetic propofol as a sleep aid.
Jackson was in the midst of preparations for a series of comeback concerts and Murray was serving as his physician.
The former doctor is appealing his conviction, although an appeals court has questioned whether it needs to hear the case.
High emotion: The ex-doctor told The Today show that he cried tears of joy after a civil jury recently determined that the promoters of Jackson's comeback shows did not negligently hire Murray
Pensive mood: Murray looked a little worn and weary after spending just under two years in jail
Getting to know you again: The former doctor and his son larked around as they enjoyed a day out
He did not, however, testify in the civil case or take the stand during his criminal trial.
Wass said Murray did a lot of writing behind bars, but she didn't know if he had plans for a book or any other projects that would allow him to earn a living.
According to TMZ, he does not yet have a publisher for the book but a deal is on the cards and some have suggested he may even be approached to take part in a reality TV show.
His attorney has argued that the court should not dismiss the appeal because it could alter Murray's overall sentence and reduce some of the stigma his conviction has caused.
Despite being jailed, Murray hasn't been entirely silent.

Release: Conrad Murray was escorted away from the jail in downtown Los Angeles in a police car on Monday
Murray previously maintained clinics in Houston and Las Vegas and frequently complained about conditions in jail after his conviction.
After he was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, the state of Texas revoked Murray's medical licence citing his felony conviction as the cause.
He was allowed to serve his entire sentence in a Los Angeles jail rather than a state prison due to a law aimed at easing overcrowding by shifting nonviolent offenders to local lockups.

'Dr. Murray has not received any special treatment in jail and in fact has many less privileges than most inmates because of his notoriety,' Wass said in a statement earlier this year.
Long term: Murray shaved a Santa Monica apartment with Nicole Alvarez, pictured together in July 2010
In a lawsuit filed by Jackson's mother against concert giant AEG Live LLC, jurors determined that Murray was not unfit or incompetent to serve as Jackson's tour doctor.
The panel did, however, say it did not condone his conduct.
'That doesn't mean we felt he was ethical,' jury foreman Gregg Barden said of Murray after the AEG Live verdict.
Born in Grenada, in February, 1953, where his parents met, Murray moved to Port of Spain, capital of neighbouring Trinidad at the age of seven with his mother Milta after his parents split.
His father, Rawle Murray is also a doctor who practised in Texas, and when Murray arrived in the US, he went to university and medical school in Houston and Nashville, before working as a cardiologist in San Diego.
Before leaving for school, he is known to have fathered one Trinidadian child, and he has since sired a further six, at least, by four women.
Murray married first soon after arriving in America, in October, 1984, to pharmacist Zufan Tesfai. Less than four years later they were divorced.
He was allegedly having an affair with Patricia Mitchell, who bore the first of his American-born children.
In 1989 he moved on to wife number two, Dr Yvette Bolick Murray with whom he had two children and they are somehow still married.
He also had a son, now 13, by Nenita Malibiran, a nurse at a clinic where he worked in San Diego.

Conrad Murray Won’t Be Able To EVER Practice Medicine In U.S. — He Can’t Get Medical Malpractice Insurance!
Conrad Murray has sued the state of Texas in an effort to get his medical license back after being released from jail earlier this week for his conviction in the involuntary manslaughter death of Michael Jackson — but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that even if the disgraced former cardiologist is successful in legal efforts to have his medical license reinstated, the convicted felon won’t be able to obtain medical malpractice insurance which is needed to practice medicine.
“Conrad Murray’s medical malpractice insurance was revoked as soon as he was convicted of the involuntary manslaughter death of Michael Jackson. Murray won’t be able to obtain medical malpractice insurance because no company would cover him. He used horrible judgment in giving propofol to Michael Jackson in a home setting,” a source close to the situation told Radar.
“It doesn’t matter if Conrad had a blemish free record prior to Michael’s death….the facts don’t change, he gave anesthesia to a patient for sleep purposes. So Murray can file all the appeals he wants, and it’s highly unlikely he will be given his medical license back… At the end of the day, he won’t be able to get the necessary medical malpractice insurance.”
Murray was sentenced in 2011 to four years in prison for his involuntary manslaughter conviction in Jackson’s 2009 death from an overdose of propofol. He walks out of the facility having served two years, to the chagrin of the Jackson family.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will be closely monitoring Murray to make sure he isn’t able to practice medicine.

Conrad Murray GORILLA IN OUR MIDST ... Racist?
Racist? Exclusive
Conrad Murray -- a black man -- decided he wanted to go trick or treating as a gorilla last night ... and even swung from a tree. And it got us thinking ... why the hell would he do that???
Considering the history of horrible racist people comparing blacks to apes, it just seems like a bad idea.
Then again, there are some people in our office who feel that if any white person (or Latino, Asian or anyone else) can wear an ape costume on Halloween, a black guy should be able to do the same thing.
Here's another theory -- we know Murray is gunning for a reality show, so maybe he picked the costume because he knew it would stir up controversy ... just the kind of thing reality producers want.
